Terms of use
Effective 7 October 2026
Heartwood is licensed to you under Apple's standard license agreement. This page explains, in plain words, what is free, how Heartwood Plus works, and what to know before you start a demanding challenge.
The license
The iOS app "Heartwood: 75 Day Challenge" is made by Idan Rokach. It is licensed, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). That agreement is the contract between you and us for the app. The notes below add to it and do not replace it.
What is free
These parts of Heartwood are free for good: every ready-made challenge (75 Tough, 75 Medium, 75 Soft, Winter Arc, Lock In 30, No Sugar 30, Dry Month, 10K Steps 30, Read 30) and adjusting it, one challenge at a time, all Apple Health proof, water, photos with yesterday's outline, the ring, the tree and the grove with every attempt, pause, reminders, share cards, the timelapse when a challenge is finished, the small widget, and backup export and import.
Free share cards and the free timelapse carry a small "Heartwood" wordmark.
Heartwood Plus
Heartwood Plus adds building your own challenges (new rules, your own order, any length or end date), a second challenge at the same time, the medium and Lock Screen widgets, a timelapse at any point, cards and videos without the wordmark, photo compare, Day 1 as the camera's outline, and three more trees. There are three ways to get it:
- Yearly: $19.99 a year.
- Monthly: $4.99 a month.
- Lifetime: $34.99, paid once. It is not a subscription and never renews.
These are US prices. The price in your country is shown in the app before you buy. There is no trial period: the free parts of Heartwood are there for as long as you like.
Renewal and cancelling
- Yearly and monthly subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
- To stop a renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- To manage or cancel: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- If you cancel, Heartwood Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
"Restore purchases" is in the paywall and in Settings, under Heartwood Plus. Use it after you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone.
If Heartwood Plus ends
Nothing you made is locked. A challenge you built keeps running to its end, and every finished tree, stump, photo and card stays yours. What you cannot do without Plus is start something new that belongs to Plus, such as another challenge of your own.
Not medical advice
Heartwood is a tracker. It is not a medical device, it gives no medical, diet or training advice, and it makes no claims about your health. Demanding programs are not for everyone. Check with a doctor first, and stop if a challenge is not safe for you. You can make any challenge gentler before you start, and a flexible challenge can pause when you are sick or injured.
Independent
Heartwood is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any challenge program. The challenges in the app are common community formats; their names and rules in Heartwood are our own wording.
Your data is yours to keep safe
Everything is stored on your iPhone, and we have no copy. Deleting the app deletes its data. Keep your iPhone backed up, and use "Export backup" in Settings if you want a file of your challenges and days. Progress photos are not in that file: they travel with your iPhone's own backup.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions: idanr391@gmail.com.
